Sounds like you were experimenting with the URI values specified at Options -> General. If those aren’t “real” you hose things up (as noticed!)
This tutorial should get you back on track: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/
Thank you.
I’m much better at hosing things up than getting anything done.
That’s how we learn! 🙂 Happy blogging.
It worked. WordPress is great and the support you experts offer beginners is amazing. Thank you.
Hello,
I seem to be in the same boat here except one major problem I cant even access the PHP my admin to get in to put my URL back right,
This is what I did, I went to the options panel and yes I changed the URL thingy, but then I put it back to how it was before I messed it up, and it said it took, but then when I went back to try to log into the admin section it doesnt recognise me, So now I am so hoping that there is a way that I can get back into my admin panel here without having to redo the entire blog, theme, etc, well basically would have to start it all over and it took me so long just to get it finally working, so please please if there is another way that I can get into my admin panel???
I know I have to change that URL thingy to point back to my domain name but havent got a clue as to what wordpress file I could alter or get to to put it back for me, I can still access all my files thru my file manager and I can see my blog site online, just cant get into the admin panel part, One more thing I would like to mention is when I look at my blog it showes as my old URL website, but then when I go to try to hit login from that main site that is where I get the other weird URL that I put in there.
I hope I explained this right and so hope someone out there that knows these codes better then me can please tell me step by step how to solve this ?
thanks to everyone and I am here waiting for replies to this.

I seem to be having this same problem with the exception that the above guide was to no avail. When I log into the admin page, it goes straight to a page that is identical to the home page, but instead has image placeholders for each of the images and there is no css formatting. I tried reinstalling wp twice, i’ve tried the guide on http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/ and so far have found no solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
