Can’t Get Plugin to Work
-
I installed Yoast SEO some time ago, but couldn’t get it to work. I decided to give it another try and after 3 hours, still couldn’t get anywhere with it. I can’t change anything in the settings. Nada. I get tabs and that’s it. When I click on the tabs nothing happens. On anything. Literally. All I get are tabs. And a “Save” button. But as there’s nothing I can change, there’s nothing to save.
The only thing that comes up allowing me to do anything is the Search Console. And that gets me nowhere. I click on the “Get Google Authorization Button,” get a popup window asking me to allow Yoast SEO to view and manage the console data, so I click “Allow.” The window closes and that’s it. Nothing else happens. I went to my Google account for the verification code and typed it directly in the box. I get a message that it’s the wrong code.
So…I literally can’t do a thing with this plugin. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling it, but that didn’t help either. I’ve tried everything and looked everywhere. There is an “Advanced” page I can get to, but it’s just about breadcrumbs, urls, and rss. There are two notifications waiting for me from the plugin, but clicking on them gets me nowhere. I have no idea what those notifications are.
What the heck is the problem? Does it not work with all themes? Are there known conflicts with other plugins? These is really frustrating. I’m at a complete loss at what to do to get it to work. This is why I gave up before.
