I’m entering the Incoming IMAP SSL/TLS settings according to my web host (shared hosting on Bluehost.com), but when I run the Test Config, it waits for a bit and then I get this message after the posting time:

Unable to connect. The server said:

    .

I ran the Run Postie (Debug) but frankly I don’t understand 99% of what I see there, other than a couple of lines that say “Connection time out”.

So we know for sure that IMAP-SSL is accessible from your server.

Have you tried plain IMAP on port 143?

There are a couple of other questions I’d like to ask that aren’t appropriate for this public forum. If you can contact me at help@postieplugin.com

Sure enough, IMAP on 143 worked – I thought I tried all of the combinations – really!

Anyway, the Test Settings worked. I got this output:

Successful IMAP connection on port 143

    # of waiting messages: 1

But that one waiting message and another one that I just tried aren’t showing up on the site as a new post, nor are they showing up in the list of posts in the admin area.

You have to click “Run Postie” to manually fetch and process the emails.

I just checked the posts and site again and all of my test posts are showing up now.

Looks like all is good with the world now!

Thanks for all of your help, Wayne.

    Glad it worked eventually.
