Hi, Yes have tried all of those sites and more. There is no probable reason why it won’t connect. Have been trying for over 12 hours except for a break for lunch. Just can’t get it going. Here is the site http://www.blog.rotttweilerrescuewa.com Maybe you can see something there.
The best thing to do is ot check with your hosting company and ask them to see if your database connection details in the wp-config.php file are correct.
What you are seeing means that at least one of the database connection values that you’ve entred is incorrect, or that the users that you’ve set up doesn’t have the correct permissions over the database.
Hi, I have checked and the details are correct, the only user is me and all permissions have been checked. The only thing I can see to do is to wipe out my old website, the sub domain and data base and start over. Download wp again and see if it works on the main domain. Even if this works iy is not what I wanted as I really wanted it as a blog for mu other website . Was only trying it out on this website.

Did you use your website username and password for that, or did you use the username and password of the database user that you created? That’s normally the part where most people get tripped up, and that’s why I said to check with your hosting company as they will be able to double-check the details very quickly and easily. If there is a problemwith the details that you’ve used they will be able to tell you exactly what it is, and if it’s something else they will need to know about it to fix it anyway.
Hi, As I said I’ve done all that and yes it was the DB user name and password that I used. All was correct. I am re-downloading the wp files in case they got corrupted on download.
OK fixed. Wiped out all wp files, db and subdomin, renamed subdomain and started over.Re-downloaded WP and started fresh. Obviously the first download had a corrupted file somewhere. Should have tried this in the beginning.
