I want to redirect a subdomain to 3rd party.

    Similar issue as here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/redirect-subdomain-to-specific-page/

Went to the documentation linked and found:

    URL and server
This matches against the server name in addition to the source URL. This is useful if you have a subdomain or other domain that points to the same server as your main domain, and you want to redirect only on the other domain.

When enabled you are shown these options:

[image showing options that I don’t see anywhere]

Server – the domain name of the server
Matched target – target URL when the source URL and server matches
Unmatched target – target URL when the source URL and server doesn’t match
Leaving matched or unmatched blank means that particular condition is not used.

Were those options added very recently?

Or does it showing up depend on some other setting being activated?

And if I could get it to work, would it allow me to redirect something like media.mydomain.com/filename.file to third.party.com/filename.file ?

No, it wasn’t added recently. What issue with it do you have?

You may be able to perform that redirect if your subdomain is served from the same domain as your WordPress install.
