Support » Fixing WordPress » Can’t create new users, permission problems

  • Hello.

My website is https://www.smartylife.net , it has WP 4.8.4.

I transfered the website to a new vps recently, but i ran into a few big problems.

First. I can’t create new users, if i try to do it, i get an user with an empty username, and i can only delete it. If i try to edit this new user, it brings me to my profile page.

The second problem is that with some admin users, when they login, for apparently no reasons, all permission are removed from them.

And, i think is related to this. No users can create a new post, because it has the “submit for review” button, instead of publish button.
To solve this issue, i’ve done this modification on WP: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/215331/how-do-i-fix-you-are-not-allowed-to-edit-this-item-for-admins-on-existing-pos
But i would like to not changing the core files.

I’ve tried deactivating every plugin and reparing the whole db, same results.

    Thank you in advance everyone.

Also try switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Hello.
Talking with WP All Import Support, it seems that my DB has a lot of tables that doesn not have the ID column with auto-increment.
How can i run an SQL Query that enable every ID column as auto increment?

I think this can solve everything.
    Thank you in advance.

Talking with WP All Import Support,

Where is this WP All Import Support?

What does wp all import have to do with transferring your website? How did you transfer it? (Note: I’m closing your duplicate post on this topic.)

WP All import is a premium plugin that we need.
After transfering the website i had these problems, and one of these was wp all impost that is not working, so i wrote to them too. And they said what i posted there.
I transfered the website using the built-in hosting features, so they made a targz file where i got files and db. Then uploaded to my new vps. I didn’t altered the website URL.

How did you alter the website URL? That could be critical.

    I think you misread, i said i didn’t.

    Update:
I have a lot of ID Column that are not primary and not with auto increment, but if i try to make them primary, i get:

Duplicate entry ‘0’ for key ‘PRIMARY’

I suspect the database import was done incorrectly. Do you still have the old export .sql file or access to the old database?

Yes I have the old db. But I think that is the same as the hosting has done a little bugged backup.
BTW I can check everything you need.

Is the backup a .sql file? If so, try re-importing it and, if URLs need to be corrected (that is, if the domain changed in the re-hosting), use this script to make the changes: https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/

Yes, the backup is a .sql file.
I can re-import it, but i can’t change the actual db with the old one, as i have a software that make 200 articles everyday, and i can’t lose those new articles.
But, if it can help, i can upload the db in another place and look if it’s the same.

That would be a good idea.
