Can you forward the admin and ftp details to info at tijmensmit.com? Then I will take a look. If the button doesn’t work then there is probably a js conflict somewhere with another script.
@tijmen Smit: Sorry but that’s not cool and really goes too far. Accessing a user’s system like this makes you responsible for that user’s system. If you make changes and something breaks later on as a result, then it is your fault.
Get information, ask for log data, have the user contact you & seek copies of the PHP files. Look but don’t touch. If your code is the problem, then produce a fix and post it here. If the theme or another plugin is at fault, then inform the user, suggest a fix, offer to contact the other developer and/or update your FAQ.
But do not try to make changes to the user’s files in this way. That’s really going too far outside of your area of responsibility.
I created temp accounts for admin and ftp and sent them to you. While I agree with what esmi posted, I also don’t have the luxury of messing with this all day. Once you have resolved it, I will disable those temp accounts.
Then I would also you to please take this discussion off these forums.
@esmi while agree with the core of your message, I never wrote that I was just going to make changes and experiment away. I’m not a newbie when it comes to website/tech so yes, I’m fully aware how things can go wrong and I NEVER would have just made changes.
And yes, next time I will just ask for a log file first. Never checked if wp sql errors actually end up in that file, but will check that.
