    Hi,
Following the implementation of https to my site I cannot create new content. The existing pages / posts / events are all working ok.
To implement https I followed the documentation and amended the site address in the general settings to https. The hosting server had been previously set up with the appropriate SSL certificate and setings by my webhost UK2. The website is live and appears to be working correctly. you can view the site at lintmanarchery.org
However when I go to save a new draft post or event I get an ‘OOPS! THAT PAGE CAN’T BE FOUND.’ error.
When I return to the dashboard a ‘blank’ post has been created (ie when I go to edit the post the content has not been saved – just the title and URL has been saved).
I have tried this a few times and also tried to create new events with the same result.
I would appreciate some help to get this fixed.
    Thanks.

  • Hi MurnaghanAP you are facing 404 error because after implementing https you haven’t updated your permalink structure

Hi, thanks for coming back to me.
I have tried to reset the permalinks but I get the same error – ie -page not found when I try to save the permalinks settings.
Are there any settings / configuration files that might need re setting?
Is there any other way to reset permalinks other than through the settings page in the wordpress dashboard?

This has been resolved by restoring the .htaccess file
