can't create custom permalinks in wordpress 3.3.2 -> 404 error

    Hi

    I’m having the problem with custom permalinks… i’m trying to set up either /&postname&/ or /%category%/%postname%/ and none of them is working all i get is 404 error… but somehow i can create /index.php/%postname%/ any ideas why this is happening ??
