That’s usually caused by a conflict outside of My Calendar. Start by disabling all other plug-ins and switching to a default theme to verify this; if everything works as expected with only My Calendar installed, then there’s interference from something else. You can re-enable everything one at a time and re-check to find the source of the problem.
