can't add new or edit on localhost

    I installed wordpress locally using XAMPP. Everything is working except when I go to add or edit new pages – I’m getting a 404 saying the edit-pages.php & page-new.php are not found. I searched my HD w/ no files found and even reinstalled, but no luck. Help!
