The plugin was active when I started working with it today. Each time I try to do anything with it, it redirects me back to my Blog homepage without affecting any change.
    1) I tried to update it, but each time I tried I was redirected back to my blog home page. 2) I decided to reinstall the plugin, but couldn’t deactivate it through the plugin page interface in my WordPress Admin in order to delete it.
    3) I FTPed into my site and manually deleted the plugin directory then reinstalled the plugin. It installed, but I can’t activate it – it redirects me back to my home page each time.
    4) I tried to install the WordPress Related posts plugin (which I understand is similar). The plugin installed, but I could not activate it – same redirect back to my blog home page.
    5) I tried to delete the installed but not activated Related Posts plugins, but was redirected back to the home page.

The 2 Zemanta plugins are the only ones experiencing this issue. I’ve been able to update, activate, deactivate, and delete all other plugins. Any idea what might be causing this?

  • Hey,

thanks for reaching out! In the past we had a couple of users that had similar issues and both of them had “WordPress Firewall” plugin installed. Could that be it? If that’s the case just temporary disable the plugin and update/delete ours. If not, then I would like to as you for a list of your other plugins installed.

    Looking forward to your reply,
    Petra

PS: Having two of our plugins installed at the same time can cause a conflict between them, so when we resolve the “not deleting” issue, I suggest you to remove one of them.

Thank you! That did the trick!

I have the WordPress Related Posts plugin deactivated right now. Before I delete it… Is there any difference between the two? Any reason why I might prefer one over the other?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hey,

glad to hear that did the trick 🙂
The differences between the plugins are really minor, mostly code related, so which one you choose to keep is really up to you.

    All the best,
    Petra
