• Suddenly I can’t access my blog at all. When entering I get the error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /homepages/1/d165820560/htdocs/app165820580/wp-content/themes/wp-centrik/includes/wpcentrik-customizer.php on line 58

I was customizing a theme and this just happened.

    My site is: http://s165820580.onlinehome.us

  • You can deactivate that theme by renaming the theme folder using FTP or Cpanel access – find it here:

    wp-content
         themes
             wp-centrik.HOLD (Rename this folder)

That should let you login again and then reinstall the theme.

I may have put this in the wrong place. I believe that my blog is hosted on wordpress.com. It is my understanding that FTP doesn’t work there.

    Am I out of luck?

It does not look like your site is on WordPress.COM –

Ask 1 and 1 for help setting up FTP.

OK. I did as you suggested above.
Now when I click on the blog I do not get an error, but get just a blank screen.

    ??
    Anything else I should do?

Do you have a twentytwelve or twentythirteen folder in the themes folder? If not, you need to upload a copy of one of those themes – download a copy here to your local computer –

    http://wordpress.org/themes/twentytwelve

Unzip it on your computer and upload the theme folder via FTP.

If you do have one of those already there, try renaming the plugins folder:

    wp-content
        plugins.HOLD

    Disregard:
I entered my website/wp-login.php and was able to log in. Maybe it will work ok from now on.

Thanks so much for your help.

Should I feel somewhat safe in switching themes or is there a problem there?

Whoops I spoke too soon. The themes directory has disappeared from my dashboard, and I got a notification at the top of the dashboard that the themes directory is missing. All I did was change that one folder that you mentioned.

ok. I’m probably writing too often. I disabled the plug – ins and got the themes folder to reappear.

Now the only way I can get into the blog is by putting the trailer /wp-login.php on the blog name and log in each time.

I want to let anyone see the blog just by clicking on the blog link. Is there a setting I got messed up somewhere?

Sorry to be a pain, but I haven’t worked on this particular blog for a while and am just now updating it.

I really appreciate your help — it’s good and timely!!!!

Looks like it’s now working with twentytwelve – I see it fine from your URL:

    Try clearing your browser cache.
