• Ever since I installed WP2 it has always been slow when trying to write a post or edit a page… but now all it does is go straight to a blank page. I can’t even make a new post.

Could this be a host issue? Or should I try reinstalling?

    THanks

  • Can you get to wp-admin?
Sometimes themes or plugins break when upgrading and accessing your admin is possible, just not the site. You can always delete all the plugins in your directory, as well as remove themes except default.

I can access wp-admin just fine and move around the options pages and stuff like that. Whenever i need to actually post or edit something tho, it just goes blank. I do not have any plugins activated either. I do have a bunch in the plugins folder but they are not activated…

check your theme then. Sometimes if a theme “breaks” it will give you a blank screen.

A link could be helpful as well.

arent themes completely seperate from the admin panel tho?

ah, your write post page is blank. I thought your admin panel was fine, just you couldn’t load your blog.

You may want to simply try uploading wp-admin again. Perhaps something was borked during FTP.

Just upgraded to 2.0.2. Didn’t fix anything.

I do have 20k registered users in the users table… do you think that may have something to do with making the db too slow?

I backed up the database, then reinstalled wordpress and only imported everything but the users and usermeta data.

    Everything is running perfectly.

WordPress and mysql combined obviously cannot handle 20k users. =(

Wish there was some kind of fix for this. Maybe running on a non shared host? Im not sure if that would show any kind of difference tho…

I am seeing the exact same problem with only 1,000 users. It worked fine at 400 users. And I really need to add about 9,000 users.

Any suggestions for using another BLOG tool that can host 10,000 users?
