Cannot view my Old posts
-
I have a wordpress blog ‘seomotionz.com‘ which is currently using wordpress version 3.5.1. Since one week from now i am having a trouble to view my older posts. Always when i try to view my older posts via ‘Older Posts’ link present in the left footer region of my blog, it says 404(page not found). What should i do to resolve this problem?? Please Help.

Reset your permalinks temporarily to default and see if the error goes away.
I have done that twice but if i do that then the ‘older posts’ become correct but rest of the urls of my site becomes 404(page not found).
Temporarily deactivate all plugins, revert to the default theme and try again.
Deactivating plugin, i didn’t understand that might temporarily but it will effect my site. Does it will solve my problem?? or i will have to so something else
Yes. These are temporary troubleshooting steps. All your data/settings are stored in your database and they can be restored when you get back to your current settings.
However, you may backup your site first so that you can restore to your current site if anything goes wrong.

http://codex.wordpress.org/Restoring_Your_Database_From_BackupOnce, i have deactivated my all plugins and reset my permalinks to default everything becomes okay. But, i want to keep “http://seomotionz.com/sample-post/” as my permalink settings, how can i keep it?? as if i reset from default to it, the problem still exists.
Revert to Twenty Twelve theme with all plugins off and try custom settings by adding
/%postname%/and see if it works. Once permalinks are set, you can put back your theme and plugins.I have deactivated my plugins first, then i change my theme to twenty twelve, and then i changed my permalinks to custom. To my surprise the whole problem was gone back then. But after that when i changed back my original theme, activate my plugins and set my permalinks to ‘post name’ the problem again shows up. What to do now???
At what point do they disappear? You should be doing those steps one by one to see which one is causing the problem.
Now, a new problem has come over. After settings my permalinks to custom they are automatically changing back to default.
You may not be aware of this, but the theme you are using is not released under the GPL licensing requirements of WP – which is not in keeping with WP policy and philosophy. We can’t support those themes here at all.
For more on this subject see:
http://www.chipbennett.net/2010/12/10/only-download-wordpress-themes-from-trusted-sources/There are many really great themes here:
They are all tested, GPL and supported here.
Start on the current problems by again switching back to twentytwelve and deactivating ALL plugins.
How GPL is connected to this problem??
To my surprise the whole problem was gone back then. But after that when i changed back my original theme, activate my plugins and set my permalinks to ‘post name’ the problem again shows up.
From what you have said, the problem only occurs with your theme? If that’s the case, we cannot help you with that theme because these forums do not support non-GPL themes.
If you have the same problem in a theme from the repository on this site, we can try to help you with it.
Is there any site other than http://wodpress.org/themes/ where i can find GPL approved themes??
These commercial ones are:
There are other free GPL themes out there – do your own research as to the licensing (and read that article above about “trusted sources”), but these forums only support themes from here, so if you get one from someplace else make sure it’s supported if that matters to you.
