cannot update category name in filter dropdown

Hi,

I had reason to edit the name of a post category. After clearing all site and browser cache the old, previous category name still displays in the filter dropdown list.

I even deleted the filter and recreated it, but the old category still persists in the front end filter dropdown.

Can you suggest a reason and solution?
