Cannot register with previous email address

Short version (TL;DR)
I wish to create a new account with an email address previously used (but not anymore – change confirmed via confirmation email). Or, change the username of this account.Support request
Is it still impossible to change usernames? If usernames can be changed, could you please do that for me? If not, could you please look into why I cannot re-register with my previous email address?Detailed explanation
I previously opened an account (this account) with a wrong username. After some searching, I learned that usernames cannot be changed and that instead, I should change the email address of my account and subsequently open up a new account with the correct username and the email address I originally used for the account with the wrong username.My current problem is that if I now log out and try to register with the previous email address, the registration form is showing an error stating that the email address is currently used and that I cannot create an account with it. I changed the account’s email over 24 hours ago.

Yes, my request is in regards to this .ORG forum.
@jdembowski I’m not trying to re-use an email. I removed the email address here and I wish to sign up with that email for again for a new account.
Anyways, it seems I should get in touch with someone at the email address provided by @tobifjellner.
