• Hi,
I use this plug in with the possibility for users to have their own password and change it, but I’ve come to realise that once you receive your reset mail and enter your new password, a “Sorry, the password reset key is expired.” error pops up everytime.

I’ve tried to deactivate the option for testing, but now when I try to click ‘password forgotten’, I’m just told the username/email doesn’t exist (when I’m pretty sure it does).

I’m kinda lost, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Note that if using the legacy password reset (i.e. non-key), it requires both username and password. If you enter only one or the other, you’ll get the “doesn’t exist” error.

There are some instances where the password reset key comes back expired. It usually has to do with certain cache plugins. I have not tracked down the exact issues that cause it (it is definitely outside the plugin itself), so there is not a fix for that yet – but I expect there will be prior to the upcoming release of 3.4.0. The solution, for the time being, is to use the legacy password reset (that you’re already using).
