Cannot login to WordPress
-
Hi all,
I’ve a potentially complex problem. Last week I downloaded and installed WP2.0.3 on a company intranet. It’s running on a Suse 10.1 Linux box with PHP and MySQL. Everything installed and I started posting to my blog. All was fine until last night. I posted my final most recently entry and it got published with no problems. Then I downloaded and installed wp-slimstat. This also was fine with no problems. I could see the stats pages. A few hours later I turned my PC back on again and tried to login to the admin pages and this is where it all went wrong. I entered the correct userID and password, it appeared to try and authenticate me and all I saw was a blank white page. No error, nothing. I was using Firefox 1.5.x to access the blog admin page. I then tried authenticaing using IE6. This time I did see an error which reads: “The page cannot be displayed. Cannot find server or DNS Error”.So here is what I can still do:
1. The blog still works. i.e. personnel in the company, including me, can actually view the blog and read the articles.
2. Searching works, the calendar work.
The only way I can login to the admin page is to:
1. try and authenticate and see the blank screen/error message
2. Go back to the blog and display one of the entries, scroll down to a comment and click “edit comment”.
At this point I get sent in to the admin pages! Hey presto! I then de-activate wp-slimstat and everything is restored to normal. No more login problems, no more errors!
So what’s going no here>
