Cannot login into WordPress after changing the PHP version
-
Hello WordPress users,
I wanted to upgrade WordPress. The upgrade gave me the message that I need to use a higher PHP version. I selected the highest version (8.0) proposed by my hosting company. Afterwards I tried to logon to WordPress again to start the upgrade. I am getting the error message
“Fatal error: Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is no longer supported in /var/www/web334/html/wp-includes/script-loader.php on line 706”I did a backup before starting the upgrade and deactivated all plugins.
Could you please help me to resolve this issue? WordPress upgrade needs a higher PHP version, but it prevents me from upgrading, so it seems to have a deadlock situation here.
Thanks and kind regards,
