Cannot login and/or change pass through phpMyAdmin

hi there,

I have two logins with wordpress.org and am currently locked out of both. One is for http://www.thepigandquill.com/ (my intended URL) and one if for the temporary URL I used for development: http://69.89.31.124/~thepigan/wordpress. I’m in the process of launching my new site and just transferred thepigandquill.com domain to my new host this morning only to realize that, since I did development on the temp URL wordpress account and not thepigandquill.com wordpress account, it’s basically pointing to a blank WordPress template site.

I tried to log into both sites this morning to edit the site URL, and I’m not able to log into either with my password. Using the password reset function sends me to a login link where it get the error message “Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid.”

I tried logging into phpMyAdmin for both sites using the supplied tutorial here and changing the password that way, CAREFULLY following the instructions, and the new password still does not work. I’m now completely without access to either account. Please help! Thank you.

Resetting password:
– In WordPress, there is more than one way to set your password.

Upon closer inspection, I’m not certain it’s even that there’s an issue with my password. I think WordPress might be confused which account it’s trying to log me into which is why I’m unsuccessful with either password.

When I visit this login url:
http://www.thepigandquill.com//wp-admin

I am redirected to this login page:
http://69.89.31.124/~thepigan/wordpress/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thepigandquill.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=

and when I visit this login url:
http://69.89.31.124/~thepigan/wordpress/wp-admin

I am redirected to this login page:
http://thepigandquill.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2F69.89.31.124%2F~thepigan%2Fwordpress%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

So it seems that perhaps the two accounts have become associated in some way and are redirecting to each other — or am I crazy? If so, how can I extrapolate one from the other so I can login independently?

If you can login to PHPMyAdmin why not change the site URL there? Use the following SQL query:
```
UPDATE wp_options SET option_value='http://desiredURL.com' WHERE option_name='siteurl' OR option_name='home';
```
It looks to me as though both the sites have their Site URLs swapped. Also the 69.89.31.124 URL takes me to the installation page which means the wp-config.php file has been deleted.

Thanks for the input, guys! Going into phpMyAdmin and tinkering with the site and home URLs there seemed to fix the issue (and once the URL wires were uncrossed, I was able to log back into my primary WordPress account and confirm everything as normal).
