  • This problem (the white screen) is usually caused by a PHP error, either in a plugin or your theme.

You can read more about how to troubleshoot this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Common_WordPress_Errors#The_White_Screen_of_Death

Did you update or install something new recently?

I was having this exact same problem earlier. It was an issue with a plugin that I had called Cornerstone. It wasn’t playing well with some of my other plugins, specifically a JavaScript plugin I used to make my page load faster and a separate plugin used for essentially the same thing as Cornerstone called Visual Composer. I ended up having to disable all my plugins and reverting my website back before a major theme update (X theme).
That’s where I would start if I were you. Load a site back up and then disable all your plugins.

Thank you both. I will try the troubleshooting recommendations. I did have to update my OS last week (though I didn’t want to…). I’m sure that’s the root of it but was at a loss for how to proceed since I can’t login. I will try the recommended FTP strategy.
