Hello…I logged into several updates for WooCommerce and attempted to update the core plugin and many sub-plugins. All failed due to some failure to move temporary files. Now Woocommerce has uninstalled itself, and I can’t readd it claiming the woocommerce folder already exists. Anyone else with this problem? My shop is down, and I can’t do anything to get WooCommerce back. Something was definitely wrong with that plugin update…

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Okay…so I went into the WP File Manager and renamed the old woocommerce folder and was able to install the latest version of woocommerce. The problem now is that I cannot get Woocommerce to show up on our “SHOP” page like it did before…and I checked in the Advanced settings and cannot find where I can set WooCommerce to be visible on that page…Please help

Disregard…I added the short code [products] and now the shop page is restored…Hopefully this plugin fiasco won’t happen again and plugins will install smoothly…Cheers

    Hi @departure,

Thank you for reaching out and providing a detailed explanation of the steps you’ve taken. I understand that issues like this can be frustrating and unpleasant to deal with.

What stood out to me was the message: “All failed due to some failure to move temporary files.” This usually points to a permissions issue. When WordPress cannot write to, replace, delete, or move files in your folders, it can cause errors like the one you experienced, which explains why manual updates worked.

To prevent similar issues in the future, I recommend reaching out to your hosting provider to ensure that your file and folder permissions are correctly configured.

I’m glad you were able to work around the issue and resolve it. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ll be happy to assist further.
