Can you describe what happens that is preventing you from selecting a gallery? Is the gallery list empty, does it appear incorrectly, does clicking the gallery list do nothing..?

I’m having a similar problem.
I have been using Nextgen for many years with no problem. However, since the latest updates I can’t insert a gallery.
All previous galleries work but I can’t manage them because there are no thumbnails and the ‘create new thumbnails’ action fails.
When I insert a gallery in a page (add nextgen gallery) and then get redirected to Nextgen, there are two fields missing (the type – Gallery/album and the gallery name) Without these I can’t select anything to insert.
I have the latest php and done a Site Health check and there are no issues.
I can create a new gallery from uploads or Media library and get the thumbnails ok. These new galleries are the only ones with thumbnails displayed. I have activated and deactivated Smush but to no avail.
Copying HTML seems to work but that sort of defeats the point.
The main issue is the lack of the two selection fields
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
