Cannot increase excerpt length above 55 words

    The Theme option ‘Enter Post Excerpt Count’ allows me to set the number of words in the excerpt from 1 to 55.
    For any number above 55, the excerpt echoes always 55 words.

    the theme follow original wp excerpt limit, you will need to add something like this to your own functions.php so it can reach any count.

    add_filter('excerpt_length', 'my_excerpt_length');
function my_excerpt_length($length) {
return 200;
}

    I added that code, but it doesn’t work. Does it depend on the theme?
