Hi, you replied me: “To Hide any folder from front end you need to create shortcode. Go to File Manger> Shortcode Generator. Add “Title” and check “Allowed Roles”. In “Hide Files”, write the path of folder you want to hide. Please check below screenshots.”

I followed your instructions and suggestions so I copied and paste the new Shortcode created in the page but the folder is shown still.

Also I don’t get so what’s the meaning of User role restrictions page in plugin settings if I have to create the Shortcode to hide folder. I supposed I can handle the restrictions in that page but I get I have to create the Shortcode to restrict. I don’t get.

I asked it twice to your support but no any your reply yet after many days, I hope you can reply soon.

    Best regards

    Hi @french150,

We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced, It looks like you are giving full path in “Naskondi Files” field. Add only file/folder name under “Naskondi Files” field in Shortcode Generator, User Restriction, User Role Restriction.

“User Restrictions” shows all users and restriction can be added to any particular user whereas in “User Role Restriction” restrictions can be added to user roles like administrator, editor etc.

Hi, I added only the name of the folder and now it works.

I need still some clarification about the user role restrictions. My scenario is this: I want hide only some folder only for some user role. So if I use ad general the shortcode without any restrictions and set to the restriction for user role where I write the name of the folder to hide, every user will see all the folders without any restriction. Is like that plugin consider only the genaral shortcode and don’t consider the restriction I set. I hope it is clear.

    Best regards

    Hi @french150,

“User Role Restrictions” is used to add restriction when user is logged in. It is set according to user roles like administrator, editor etc. whereas “Shortcode Generator” is used to show file manager on any post/page to logged in/non logged in user at front end.

You need to create the shortcode and hide the folder/files whilst creating it. It will hide the files and folder mentioned there.

Yes, I want use “User Role Restrictions” or “User Restrictions” to add restriction on front end for logged in users. In fact in the settings of “User Role Restrictions” I see the field where I can put the path of the folder or file to hide. So if I put there one or more folder names what will happen?

I write the name of the folder in the field about the path of the folder or file to hide for a user role but still the user of that user role continue to see that folder.

    Thanks

    Hi @french150,

You can use [wp_file_manager_admin] shortcode to show WP File Manager on frontend page/post for only admin logged-in user.

The order of restrictions is as follows: “User Restrictions,” “User Role Restrictions,” and “Settings.”

If you put multiple folders/files separated with commas like (ABC, XYZ) in “User Role Restrictions” or “User Restrictions” then all the folders/files will be hidden on the page/post where the generated shortcode is used.
