Cannot enable show excerpt nor show date

    I’ve used this plugin before, not sure if I am just forgetting something or it is broken. I check show excerpt and or show date, and it doesn’t enable. I can make other changes during the same save, and they’ll commit just fine. I don’t see errors in the backend logs. Not sure what to do here.

    After trying to figure this out for a while, I almost switched to another plugin. I then remembered a site I had this running on with an older version, I grabbed that and used it for a few moments when I noticed a very helpful and friendly message below these two. I’ll post one of them.

    Rounded Thumbnails style selected under the Custom Styles. Excerpt display is disabled.

    I then updated the plugin to the latest one, and changing the style fixed my issue. I also see a very different UI in the newest version of the plugin. My suggestion would be to add these helpful messages back in. In hindsight it makes sense why they wouldn’t work, but I was planning to style things with CSS, and thus I had not visited the style tab yet, only concerning myself with the functionality at the time.

    I need to see how I can bring those messages back. Will add this on the todo list. The new interface uses the Settings API which has made life a lot easier to maintain options and also fits better with the WordPress recommended guidelines.
