Hi!
Hmm… “won’t drag”…
Please, let us know whether You have selected “Uploaded to this post” option (example)
Yes. I have selected “Uploaded to this post” in the filter dropdown. I tried on another WordPress 4.0 site without the Document Gallery or any other Media Library plug-ins and I cannot drag there either. This is the first time that I’ve tried on either site since upgrading to WordPress 4.0. Perhaps it’s a WordPress 4.0 thing?
Hi Randall,
This was the first I heard of the D&D functionality in Media Manager disappearing in 4.0, but I went and checked my test system and I’m seeing the same issue. A good way to test whether DG (or any other plugin) is to blame is to disable the plugin and see if the issue persists. I just did this on my system and it appears to still exist, so it looks like this is part of the WP core changes in 4.0.
I feel like this may be a bug rather than an intended change, but I’ll do some more digging later.

Hi all…
I have just taken over administration of a WordPress 4.1 site using DG, and my issue is related. I AM able to drag and drop the files into the order that I want while in the Insert Media dialogue, however, the results are not showing that way on the page of the website. What can I do–or what steps do I take–to reorder the appearance of the document images that on the published page? I simply want to move the most recently added documents to the top of the page while moving the others down. Any help is VERY appreciated.
Hi Jeff,
In your case you’re actually much better off using the orderby attribute, so [dg orderby=date order=DESC] to order by when the documents were uploaded or [dg orderby=modified order=DESC] to order by when attachments were last modified.
If you do that you won’t have to reorder each time a new document is added! 🙂
