Hi,

This morning my site wouldnt auto update any plugins due to some directory issue. I then went to try and update my theme and it says I cannot edit my Theme Editor I changed the permissions but then it just goes to a 404

Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/seo-ultimate.1.7.3.zip.

Unpacking the update.

Could not create directory /home/kevinwil/public_html/wp-content/upgrade/seo-ultimate.tmp/seo-ultimate/modules/titles

This is the plugin error

/wp-content/upgrade
chmod these folders to 777
do the update
chmod back to 755
should work ok from now on

What about the First issue? Where it says the theme editior file is not editable?

some hosts require chmod of 666 on theme files that are edited
they should be changed back to 644 when done

really – it’s simpler and quicker to ftp file to desktop- edit – ftp back to site

I have done this and it still says file cannot be edited!
