• Clicking on a page image to change/edit image properties produces a result similar to clicking the “PgDn” key. While holding the mouse button down, the edit popup field appears as normal, but releasing the button to perform an edit function causes what appears to be a “page down” action. Not an issue if I switch to Internet Explorer 11 browser. Any thoughts?
PS: Using latest WP 4.9.6 on fully updated Windows 10 Pro 64

  • Any thoughts? Yes, don’t use either of these browsers. Use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox instead. They are proven to have fewer performance problems.

If you must use MS Edge, try logging in from another user account on your computer, to rule out any problems arising from Edge extensions you may have installed.

One of my users has just started having the same problem, but it was fine until very recently, so presumably has been caused by a WordPress or an Edge update. I can reproduce the problem with Edge on a completely different PC. Works fine with Chrome or Firefox.

Thanks for your observation Nigel. I agree as this issue also occurred only recently for me using MS Edge. My solution for now is to use IE 11 for editing.

Same problem here since either the last WordPress update (4.9.7) or Edge update. Considering how often Microsoft make breaking changes to Edge these days, my finger is firmly pointing at Microsoft… 🙁
