Can this be done with WordPress?

Is there a way to add additional post fields in addition to the title and the content? I have a static site that has a collection of old family journals and I have wondered how it might be converted to WordPress:

Each post would have a person’s photo, name, and lifespan, along with a category, title, and content. Are there plugins that can be used to expand the post form to include more fields? It would be nice to fill in the fields and have the post end up looking like ones I have on my site. Is there a theme out there that already does what I am trying to do? I have been looking around and haven’t seen anything that fits what I want to accomplish. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
