I ran into an issue today while updating some plugins. 3 of the 4 updates went fine. The 4th ran into an issue. There was no error but it did not activate. It was the newsletter plugin. I went back to the plugin page and the plugin did update but did not activate. I clicked activate and the page refreshed and the message at the top says Plugin Activated.

I tried some other plugins too, I can not activate or deactivate any plugins. I can delete, I can edit and make posts. I checked the DB, no issues found. Restarted anyway. Nginx logs show no issues or errors.

    Thats where I am stuck.

I recommend asking at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/newsletter so the plugin’s or theme’s developers and support community can help you with this

okay about your issue with the newsletter plugin please ask the plugin developer about it. they would be very happy to address your issue.

If you are not able to activate any of the plugins you may have encountered some error .please mention that error over here .

Also which theme and plugins are you using ?

Also are you using a hosting of good quality please refer list of hostings which meet minimum requirements /a>

I said in the second paragraph that I can not Activate or Deactivate any plugins. I used the updates page to update 4 plugins at the same time. the first 3 worked fine. The 4th was the newsletter plugin. I have deleted the newsletter plugin entirly. I still can not Activate or Deactivate. I can install and delete but I can not activate.

I am hosting on Ubuntu 16.04 using Easy Engine. I have 6 wordpress sites on this server and the problem is only happening on this one. Again, No server errors. I was expecting 404 or 500 errors. But none. And when I Activate I get the confirmation that the Plugin has been activated.

I also thought a database error might be the problem but I can not find any.

I went back and figured out which 4 plugins were updated. #3 was WP-Supercache. I cleared the caches and all is well.

Thanks for the debug suggestion. There were no more errors but I saw references to the cache so I went for that.
