Can I do this?

hi Everone,
I’m a WordPress newbie. got some question for my site, hoping someone can help me.

I first install wordpress in the subforder of my site’ root folder.
url is something like this:
http://www.mydomain.com/personnel/word/

ps: “personnel” is my root folder, so “word” is the folder which I installed the WordPress just for testing.
Now that I’m just about finished all the testing works.

my question is this:

Can I use ftp and move all the stuff in the “word” folder into the “personnel” folder?
Or should I have to redo all the work?
