Can I change post numbers?

I just installed a blog on my site yesterday and transferred all my old posts to it. My question is can I change the post numbers (like ?post=4) to something else (like ?post=1) so that the count is the actual proper number. I know that this has no effect on how the blogs are listed since that goes by the date tags but I’m a perfectionist! 🙂
