I’m trying to set up this plug-in, but I’m getting the same problems referenced in an earlier thread with not getting the valid callback URL. I set up an app in Flickr expressly for using this plug-in, so I have the correct API Key and Secret. I also have put the correct callback URL in the proper place in the Flickr app authentication flow. So the problem must be with the Flickr User ID.

It is not my Flickr screen name, or the email address I use to log in to Yahoo/Flickr. I cannot find the “fairly long number” mentioned in the earlier thread, though I have a vague recollection of one. Any ideas?

I may be able to solve your problem sguthrie but not my own. I am having the same problem with not being able to grant access. My api key and secret are definitely correct, checked multiple times. My flickr ID is correct I believe since I used idgettr and have used that result elsewhere. When I click grant access, I get a 404 not found. The url it is attempting to find is http://mysite.com/wp/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=afg_gallery_auth . Any ideas or help please?

sguthrie: In your AFG Settings, beside the Flickr user ID, it says to get it from here where “here” is a link to idgettr. Open that page and in the box paste the url from your flickr photostream main page. You should be entering something that looks like https://www.flickr.com/photos/yourname/ Hope that helps you at least. 🙂

Thanks, Quadrophenia for the step-by-step to getting the ID. Assumptions, man, they’ll get you every time. Now all I have to do is figure out the settings. Good luck with yours!

This may be completely not useful. But just in case…

In Flickr, under Edit Authentication Flow, the callback URL I’m using looks like http://mysite/wp-admin/.

Geesh, talk about feeling dumb. I went back yet again thinking I’ll try deleting the ending slash just to see if it made a difference and there was a damn space after the slash. Removed the space and the grant access worked perfectly. Sorry for my error! And thank you for the great plugin!!

Thanks sguthrie for the thought. Yep, my original setup had wordpress nested one level deeper than I should have done. My link is actually correct for me. I was afraid that could be my problem so I am relieved it was much simpler! 🙂

Huzzah for both of us! And the plugin looks great.
