We have changed nothing on our site aside from adding content (posts, etc) in about a year. Today, we got an alert that our three “locations” pages on our site were broken. Today, they all display the error: “Fatal error: Call to undefined function wpseo_xml_sitemaps_base_url() in /home/phydeaux/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpseo-local/classes/class-frontend.php on line 105”

If we try to “update” one of these pages from WordPress, we get the error: “Fatal error: Call to undefined function wpseo_xml_sitemaps_base_url() in /home/phydeaux/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpseo-local/classes/class-core.php on line 217”

This error only happens on these three pages on our site. We have other pages that work with no error.

These three pages were last changed on 02-01-2016.

What is this error, and why is it happening?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

This was resolved when we rolled WordPress back to version 4.9.2. Apparently, the Yoast SEO local plug in isn’t compatible with the latest WordPress version.

Is there any way to know when the plug-in will be compatible with the latest version of WordPress?

All our premium plugins, including Local SEO, are expected to work with the latest version of WordPress. In fact, we do not support old versions of WordPress and plugins as explained in this kb article.

Have you tried performing a conflict check? It’s possible that your other plugins or your theme is conflicting with our plugin.

I’m receiving the same error when running Yoast SEO 7.2 and Yoast SEO: Local 3.4.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wpseo_xml_sitemaps_base_url() in /wp-content/plugins/wpseo-local/classes/class-core.php on line 336

I’ve disabled all plugins except these two and the sitemap page still shows this error. When other plugins are on the sitemap page will just return a 500 HTTP error.

    Running WordPress 4.9.4

@drivenfaroff The Yoast Local SEO plugin’s current version is 7.2 so version 3.4 is very out of date and may be causing an incompatibility with the Yoast SEO plugin. Please know that if you are using out of date versions of plugins you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast and we would recommend updating Local SEO to the current version.

Thanks @devnihil, this is for a client and was unaware there was an update to Yoast Local SEO. We will get it updated and go from there.

We recommend that you use the latest versions of our plugins as we have tested these against the most recent version of WordPress.

If you do have an active subscription of the Local SEO for WordPress plugin or premium version of the Yoast SEO for WordPress plugin, you can get premium support from our team by following the steps in this article — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/support/
