Attempted to update wordpress to version 5.2 i think it was. got message update failed now i get an error whenever i try to go anywhere on my wordpress site. Has anyone seen this before or know how to fix it.

Try MANUALLY updating. Download WordPress again and unzip it, and use that to copy up. Access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. (NOTE: do not delete the wp-content directory or your wp-config.php file). Please read the Manual Update directions first.

Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong. You can never have enough backups!

Thanks for the reply.
I have manually updated everything in wp-includes and wp-admin but not in the main folder or wp-content.

Then I can access my site but when i go to /wp-admin to login to the admin, i get told wordpress has updated but the database needs updated. when i click to update the database the screen just turns blank and never updates. I even let it run all night. never updated the database. reload the page and does nothing.

The website displays but I still cant access the admin interface.

Any further ideas? is there a way to manually update the “database”?

Apologies, but now that my thread had one reply, does this mean I do not get any further support on this topic? Do I need to start a new thread with no replies continuing this one in order to get support?
