• Plugin version: 1.3.18
    WordPress version: 7.1.1
    Theme: Kadence

    Setup:
The site’s front page (Settings → Reading → “A static page”) displays a Page that contains a [calendar type="mini"] shortcode in a sidebar widget area.
The same page also contains a [calendar type="upcoming"] shortcode elsewhere, which correctly lists upcoming events.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Visit the front page (a static Page, not the blog index).
    2. In the [calendar type="mini"] widget, click the “next month” navigation link (URL becomes something like ?calendar_month=oct&calendar_yr=2026
appended to the front page URL).

    Expected result:
The calendar should advance to show October, including the events already confirmed to exist that month (the same events display correctly via [calendar type="upcoming"]
    on the same page).

    Actual result:
The entire main content area and sidebar are replaced by the theme’s generic “nothing found” search/archive template
(header, main menu and footer remain intact — only the main query content changes). When logged in as an administrator, the page additionally
shows WordPress’s standard “Ready to publish your first post?” prompt — the message normally shown only on an empty blog posts index.
This strongly suggests the month-navigation request is somehow causing WordPress’s main query to resolve as the blog posts index instead of the static front page.

    Notes:

    • The plugin’s WordPress.org listing states “Tested up to: 6.9.8” — this site runs WordPress 7.1.1, which is newer than the plugin’s stated compatibility range.
This may be relevant to the bug.
    • Reproduced identically on two separate installs of the same site (staging and production), same plugin/theme versions, same result.
    • Setting a dedicated “Posts page” under Settings → Reading (previously blank) did not resolve the issue.
    • The [calendar type="upcoming"] shortcode on the same page is unaffected and correctly shows events for the following month.
    • No other plugin/theme conflict identified so far (tested with all other plugins active as normal).

Happy to provide more detail (site URL, screenshots, or a temporary admin login) if useful for reproducing this.

Update: WordPress has since updated to 7.1.2 (from 7.1.1). I re-tested on the staging site and the issue is unchanged — the “next month” link still replaces the page content with the empty blog-archive template instead of advancing the calendar. So this isn’t version-specific to 7.1.1.

To reiterate from my original report: this is not a case of a misconfigured or wrong-pointing link — the link is generated by the plugin itself, unedited, and correctly targets the same page the calendar is displayed on. I mention this because I noticed another older topic in this forum that was resolved by pointing out the calendar was embedded on the wrong page — that is not the situation here.
