Caching Problem
-
I previously described a problem that I had in another post.
I had created a table using TablePress, containing thumbnail previews for NextGen galleries in columns 1 & 2 of the first two rows. The thumbnails of column 2 got shifted to column 1, and those that were meant to be displayed in column 1 disappeared completely. I resolved this by adding another column in front of the other two, and setting its width to 0.
The changes appeared immediately in Firefox, but Chrome still displayed the old version of the table. This morning, the page was suddenly working in Chrome, which seemed to point towards a caching issue.
I just updated the page, and re-added the table (basically, I had created a test area at the bootom of the page, and I deleted the old table at the top, while moving the correct table in its place). Suddenly, neither Firefox nor Chrome are displaying the correct (updated) table!
After installing Cache Killer for Chrome, and disabling caching in Firefox, the problem still persisted, so I assumed it must have something to do with server-sided caching. I installed the W3 Total Cache plugin, but the button for clearing the cache was greyed out. After I uninstalled it, and I installed WP Super Cache instead, it displayed zero cached pages.
What is going on here? I am hoping that both browsers will display the page correctly at some point, but even if they do, I can hardly wait half a day each time I make a change, before I can actually see the changes!
