buy or reserve

    Hi there

    I need to be able to make some products reserve (with some custom fields for some customer options) and some products buy (using a gateway)

    and some buy OR reserve (customer chooses option)

    Ideally I’d like to be able to specify this by tag but could use a category or even some other method

    on a per product basis is not ideal but if thats the only way its not the end of the World

    Can anyone advise me on either how to do this within Jigoshop or how to do it with a Jigoshop addon

    Do you mean to have customers buy a product and you reserve it? I just want to sure I understand you…

    no, sorry

    I mean I need to specify that some prods can be bought in the shop and some can only be reserved

    while some can be bought or reserved

    when reserved is chosen or forced, the customer can provide some extra data via some custom fields

    Thanks for the links – not sure I can create the Buy OR reserve option with those addons

    I can do either buy or reserve, per product, using the price field

    but how can I allow customer to choose between buy OR reserve for a product with a price ?

    I thought about the idea of using two payment options (a payment gateway and an adapted cash on delivery type option – that has some custom fields too) – then allowing the customer to choose on checkout

    Buy OR Reserve

    Assuming a payment option could be adapted to act like a Reserve option I still have the problem that I need to be able to control which options are available to the customer for specific products, either by a custom taxonomy or some other attribute

    Is there any way to be able to control which payment options appear for which products ?

    I think I have a method that may work – but need a bit of help with an aspect of it…

    I do NOT need the reserve and collect option to go through a checkout process

    My method is to create a form that allows a customer to input some personal details and send to the seller then include this form into a product custom tab.

    I want to be able to add the reserve and collection form to any prod on a prod by prod basis.

    In the front end, I want a button to appear under the add to cart button ‘reserve & collect’ – ONLY where I have added the reserve and collect form to a custom prod tab

    so (and this is where I need some help) I need a formal method of specifying a prod has a ‘reserve & collect’ option, either with a prod attribute or using a tag taxonomy or by some template logic.

    So that I can program the front end to show the button

    am I making sense ?

    This method is ok as the online store has no concept of stock

    You could definitely rename Bank Transfer to Reservation and use it as such and add additional info in fields. Unfortunately, there is no way to show payment gateways based upon the product. If this is feature that you would like to have integrated then we could do some custom development if you would like. You can request a quote at support@jigoshop.com if you’d like.
