    Hi there,

I have found a few topics mentioning this issue and have followed the suggested order of doing things, to make sure I am getting it right, but still no joy.

I am using plugin version 2.14

I have created some att categories, so go into Media > Add New, expand bulk edit, tick the category and leave “add” selected.

Then, I have tried both drag and drop and select files, but looking at the media after it is uploaded and no categories are ticked.

Other than that, have got everything displaying on my page, with a bit of reading through the fantastic documentation! This will make keeping my pages auto updated with the latest files and downloads very easy, so thanks for providing this plugin!

Thank you for your kind words and for your report. Thanks as well for reporting your WordPress version. You are doing everything right, and you have discovered a defect in the current MLA version when used with older WordPress versions, e.g., 3.5 – 3.9.x. The uploader in these older versions is not compatible with the way MLA passes Bulk Edit parameters back from the browser to the server.

I have uploaded a new Development Version dated 20150903 that contains a fix for this defect. You can find step-by-step instructions for using the Development Version in this earlier topic:

    MLA errors when using plugin

If you get a chance to try the Development Version please let me know how it works for you. I will leave this topic unresolved until the fix goes out in the next official MLA version.

Thanks again for alerting me to this defect and for your interest in the plugin.

    David,

Fantastic, thanks so much for looking at this so quickly and sorry for causing extra work with my older WP version!

Can confirm that the development version works just fine and fixes the reported issue.

    Many thanks!

Thanks for your update with the good news regarding the Development Version.

It’s not extra work at all. I try to be compatible back to WP 3.5, but I don’t always do thorough testing on the older versions. I appreciate the help in finding this issue.

I have released MLA version 2.15, which contains the “Bulk Update” fixes required to support older WordPress versions. I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems with the new version. Thanks again for your help.
