I’m working on a site that will have a lot of password protected pages. The problem with this comes when the password needs to be changed. Is there a way or a plugin to centralize the password protection? I’ve seen a plugin for Posts and one for Categories but since I’m doing this with Pages, neither help as there’s not category associated to Pages.

Looking for something to make it a bit easier to change all passwords for a group of pages, or all protected pages at once.

  • Hi @altere987
This plugin is a very good alternative to achieve what you need: https://es.wordpress.org/plugins/groups/

It allows to create access “groups”, and to protect pages and other content to be accesible only to some specific group.
Then you can add or remove users to those groups.

It’s a powerful and flexible permission system.

    Hope it helps 🙂

Thanks, I tried that one but needed something for people without accounts or the hassle of having to create one. I changed some things around and while I’d like to use Pages for a lot of these I am using Posts with the plugin Access Category Password.

    I see.
If you still want to use pages, you can enable category support for pages, and use the plugin that you are using to protect categories.
In order to support categories for pages, you can use this plugin:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/add-category-to-pages/

    Take care!
