• Hi, I hope you’re doing well.

I’ve found the exact scenario where the issue occurs with the Custom Permalinks plugin.

Problem description: Custom permalinks work correctly in most cases, but they get automatically overwritten in a specific situation:

    • When I edit products using Bulk Edit in All Products list (WooCommerce → Products) and change / add a product category — the custom permalink is reset / overwritten.
    • However, if I edit the same product individually (by opening the product edit page and changing the category there), the custom permalink is not overwritten and stays intact.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Set a custom permalink for a product (e.g. /special-product-name/).
    2. Go to Products → All Products.
    3. Select one or more products → Bulk Edit.
    4. Change or add a category and apply the changes.
    5. The custom permalink is replaced (usually reverts to default structure with category slug).

Expected result: Custom permalink should remain unchanged regardless of how the product is edited (Bulk Edit or single edit).

Actual result: Custom permalink is overwritten only when using Bulk Edit to modify categories.

This is very inconvenient when managing large catalogs and re-categorizing products.

    Environment:

    • WordPress: [вставте версію]
    • WooCommerce: [вставте версію]
    • Custom Permalinks: [вставте версію]

Could you please investigate this behavior? It seems that during Bulk Edit the plugin doesn’t respect the existing custom permalink when category changes are involved.

I’m happy to provide any additional information or screenshots if needed.

    Thank you in advance!
