I use the popular Generate Press theme with the Generate Press (GP) Premium Plugin.

The bug I am having an issue with is that with a GP setting to show the second image of a product when you hover over the main image. Unfortunately, after testing by theme and plugin deactivations etc, it has come down to only being a problem with this plugin.

Hoping you can fix this as this is a very useful plugin.

    Thanks

    Hi @gwmbox ,

Thanks for testing it so thoroughly.

What you’re seeing is the two features overlapping, rather than something broken. Variation Swatches updates the product image on shop and archive pages, so when a shopper picks a colour or size the tile immediately shows that variation’s image. That’s the point of having swatches in the catalogue. GeneratePress Premium’s hover effect wants to swap that same image for the second gallery image. Both are controlling the same image in the product tile, so only one of them can be in charge there.

So it comes down to which behaviour you want on your shop page.

If the hover swap matters more to you, go to WooCommerce > Variation Swatches and turn off swatches for shop and archive pages. Swatches keep working on individual product pages, and the GeneratePress hover effect behaves normally again.

If showing the selected variation’s image matters more, leave swatches enabled on the shop page and turn off the second image on hover setting in GeneratePress instead.

Both plugins stay active either way, it’s purely a question of which you’d rather have on the catalogue pages.

    Best regards,
