• Description of the bug

The administration bar user interface is missing any kind of contextualization for its link items, except for ‘Dashboard’. All other icons offer no clue as to their destination, neither a visible label, on hover, nor on focus. The button elements are missing any sort of text label within them.

    Steps To Reproduce

    1. Ensure YOOAdmin administration bar is enabled

    Actual behaviour

    • Unintuitive and inaccessible navigation caused by missing labels.

    Expected behaviour

    • Some manner of text describing the destination of the administration bar links is accessible without requiring code inspection.

    Hi,

Thanks for this report as well. You’re absolutely right: the toolbar icons gave no indication of where they lead, either visually or for assistive technology.

This is also fixed in YOOAdmin 1.6.4, which we’re planning to release today, together with the Customize link fix:

    • Every toolbar icon now shows a clear label on hover and on keyboard focus.
    • Each item has a proper accessible name for screen readers, including counts where relevant (for example, “Comments (3 awaiting moderation)”).
    • Dropdown buttons now announce whether they are open or closed, and keyboard focus is clearly visible again.

Thanks again for the detailed reports. They genuinely help us improve YOOAdmin. Once the update is out, please let us know if anything still feels unclear.

    Best regards,
    YOOAdmin Team
