• I’m trying to extend one of my blogs into the BuddyPress social platform.

I have downloaded the BuddyPress plugin (as well as other supporting plugins), and have followed the steps in the step-up wizard.

Here’s where I come up with a pesky problem, with which I could use some practical advice:

I get a message saying that i need to move various folders out of the BuddyPress plugin folder in wp-content/plugins/bp-themes/bp-default

and move them into the wp-content/themes/ folder, found here: /wp-content/themes/bp-default/

The problem is that when I go to the “themes” folder, there is no bp-default theme to be found. So, as you can see, if there is no folder, thean I have nowhere to deposit the files.

Why am I not seeing the bp-default theme in the “themes” folder, even though that is the theme that is currently active on my site?

    Please advise!

    Many thanks.

  • I get a message saying that i need to move various folders out of the BuddyPress plugin folder ….

What I’m getting from your post above is that in the process of making your WordPress theme compatible via BP Template Pack plugin, you had to go through Step Two because BP folders could not be automatically transferred to your active WP theme folder in server.

In this case, download the required folders from wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/ to your hard drive and upload them to wp-content/themes/yourActiveWPThemeFolder/ and keep BP Template Pack activated. Then proceed to Step Three of the BP Compatibility process.
