Buddy Press and BB Press

Hello!

My name is Jake and I am attempting to add discussion forum to a hidden page on my website. http://www.whatwelivefor.com I want users (once given access to a password protected page) to be able to participate in discussion, messaging, and all social interaction on this hidden page.

Will Buddy Press and BB press help me achieve this and if so, how can I integrate them in my wordpress site?

The tutorials and articles I have read/watched do not seem to help me.
Can someone please either direct me to information to walk me through this or possibly walk me through it yourself?

I have decent experience working with wordpress and a little coding (though I think that my issues derive from not knowing how to configure both these plugins for my purpose)
