Support » Fixing WordPress » Broken thumbnails for featured image

  • When I post and add a featured image, the thumbnails appear broken on my home page at rideonstl.org (they normally appear under “upcoming events” or “featured story”).

I added add_theme_support( ‘post-thumbnails’ ) to function.php and I turned off Photon in Jetpack, but they still appear broken.

I was told it may be a deep rooted coding issue that has not been compatible with the updates? Any advice on how to fix?

Your site is not using full urls for its images. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
