• Hi,

I have several themes installed in the correct directory, however, WP either says either “stylesheet is missing” or “template is missing”. One of the themes I’m using is
    from Andrea Viklund.

    http://andreasviklund.com/templates/

Did WP 2.2 change what files it is looking for? For example, there is no “style.css” in the Viklund template I’m using.

    Thanks,

    Ben

  • Every theme has a stylesheet. Re-unzip that theme file and check again.

Also, check that you have them in the correct place. It’s easy to upload them incorrectly sometimes and end up with the /wp-content/themes/blacktheme/blacktheme structure which will not work.

    Hi,

Indeed, the themes come with stylesheets, but they aren’t named “style.css”. For example, in the theme andreas07, there is fix.css and andreas07.css.

    Isn’t WP looking for “style.css”?

I found the problem. Some of these themes lack index.php, header.php, and footer.php. I don’t know why.

So, I simply chose other templates.
