• Hi everyone,

I just upgraded my WordPress installation to 2.9.1 from 2.9, and I have some problems with my blog commenting system ever since I updated from WordPress 2.8.6 to WordPress 2.9 – somehow now every post in my website have the same comments on it (it just says “# comments to” and then below that there are 10 comments from an old post, and it’s the same like that in every post) and there are no comments box for any new comments. Tried to disable every plugin, didn’t fix anything. I recently re-installed my WordPress from the shell, but that didn’t fix the problem as well. Tried to repair my database from phpMyAdmin, still didn’t fix it. I don’t know what’s going on here so any help would be really appreciated. =)

    Thank you very much.

  • Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I have a similar issue. Except comments appear to be working correctly on posts but I am showing all comments from the site on all pages. I too have recently upgraded to 2.9.1, I have tried shutting off plugins, changing themes (I use Arras) fixes this problem, but causes others, with the default theme it will give the correct number of comments but show none and will not provide a comment box and say that comments are disabled when they are in fact enabled.

I have not tried resetting the plugins folder yet, will try this later this afternoon when I have time.
